SIERA will participate in the ARRL 2025 Field Day annual event!

Field Day is the Radio Amateurs' Annual Open House. We look forward to sparking a wide community interest and recruiting potential new Hams.

If we have enough participants, we would like to be on the air for the entire duration of Field Day, from 11:00am Saturday, June 28, until 2:00pm, Sunday, June 29.

We will operate from our club's Communications Trailer, which will be located in the fenced field, southwest of the main parking lot at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.

All SIERA members and guests are invited. Please let us know if you are interested in attending, what hours you might want to operate HF radio, and if you can assist with setup or takedown of the antennas and signage.

Some things to note:

• Restrooms are available a short distance away at the Airport Manager's Building

• Tail Dragger Café at the airport is open from 7:00am to 8:00pm Saturday and Sunday

• Bring your own folding chairs, sunshades, and pop-up canopy if you have one

• Campers and RVs are welcome if you would like to stay overnight, however, no hookups are available ($10/day fee to Airport)

• Everyone will have an opportunity to operate HF, even if unlicensed, and coached by a licensed control operator

• Friendly Elmers will be on hand to answer questions from visitors, hams and non-hams

Field Day task assignments and a cheat sheet with helpful operating hints will be sent out by email one week prior to the Field Day event.
